Along with Overdrive, patrons of Terrebonne Parish Library System can access ebooks through the service Axis360. The service, available on a website and phone/tablet app, contains thousands of ebooks from our library. With a new update, using Axis360 is easier than ever before after a quick download and update.
How to Get the New App
If you read ebooks on your personal computer or laptop, do not worry about updating anything. Simply log in and use Axis360 as before.
Note: there are special instructions if you are using a Kindle Fire tablet. See below.
As for phone and tablet users, please do the following:
First, if you were a previous user of Axis360, we found it is easier to delete any previous version of the app, once called Axis eReader and Axis Player. This process may be different depending on your phone, but this helpful article from PCAdvisor can talk you through it.
Next, find the new Axis360 app in your appstore or click the following links:
Finally, log in as you would normally using your library card number and PIN. Your PIN should be your birthday in six numbers. For example, if your birthday was January 1, 1980, your PIN would be 010180. This can also be changed on your library account.

Kindle Fire Users
Note: Axis360 only works on Kindle Fire tablets that are 3rd generation or later. Unfortunately, Axis360 ebooks cannot be read on plain Kindle ereaders, only tablets. If you bought your Kindle Fire before October 2013, Axis360 may not work on your device. If you are unsure, a chart can be found here.
First, delete any previous Axis360 apps (Axis eReader and Player) from your tablet. Instructions on deleting Kindle Fire apps can be found here.
Next, make sure your device can accept items from unknown sources within the “Settings>Devices (Applications). Turn on the option that allows for installation for unknown sources. There should be a warning, select “Ok.”
Return to the home screen and open the web browser, Silk. Type the folloowing: http://apps.axis360.org/axis360 and allow the app to download.
Go to the “Downloads” folder and click on the file after it has downloaded. Touch “Install” and “Done.”
The app should now be on your device and ready to use. Login by using your library card number and your PIN. Your PIN should be your birthday in six numbers. For example, if your birthday was January 1, 1980, your PIN would be 010180. This can also be changed on your library account.
