November: National Diabetes Month

Here in South Louisiana, we know the dangers of diabetes. Good food in lagniappe quantities and heat indexes that drive any sane person inside contribute to the prevalence of the disease and the lifestyle that can lead to it. Because it is a manageable disease, many people forget that diabetes can lead to amputation, blindness, heart disease, nerve damage and even death.
